Whoa, hah.

I just keep track of how many miles I get out of a tank.

I have a wad of gas station receipts in my center console that I periodically throw away. Sometimes I get brave and calculate my economy... then I see numbers that I don’t want to see.

I briefly used to use fuelly.com, and before that I had a notepad in the glovebox. But lately I gave up because the fuel economy on the longbed has just been getting steadily worse, the Vibe gets 30mpgs regardless of driving or traffic conditions, and the Taco has its tracked via company gas card.

Fuelly, primarily through the GasTracker+ app on my phone.

I also hate that date format almost as much as the garbage Americans use (MM/DD/YYYY). The only good format is YYYY/MM/DD.

I’ve got a little gauge, and when it gets close to the ‘E’, I put more gas in. Don’t track mileage (my trip computer does, but I never remember to reset it after filling up), and don’t track costs.

Seems too fancy for me. I just know I’ll get 600km on the 45-litre 3 and like 400km on the 48?-litre Miata [on a full tank] before I get major range anxiety.

Also, does your Juke take... premium? Trying to figure out where in ON you’d be paying that for 87 octane.

My truck has a small notebook where I keep the records. I’ve ported that to Excel, but the files are buried somewhere on an old hard drive.

When I bought the WRX, I switched to the app MileageKeeper for both my truck and the car. It supports export to CSV, so here’s the truck’s mileage as of the last export:

The notebook also has oil changes, service work, etc.

It is recommended to run premium, I feel guilty running regular. The only lengthy thing was setting the chart up, once set up it takes a minute to update it. Right now regular is mid-high 90's.

An app called Fuelio. It’s on the Android app store but not sure about Apple. It’s really easy to use and keeps track of mileage and gas mileage. I’ve gotten 18 MPG recently and am quite proud of that figure in the 4Runner.

When I need it, I buy it. Sometimes track on a big trip though, just to see what it can do MPG-wise.

I don’t keep track of it any more, because I decided I didn’t have any real need to, but I used to use The RoadTrip app for iOS. I liked the app because I could just enter it right there at the pump.

I like it because real world MPGs are the only thing I ever care about. EPA ratings are a joke — in either direction. Fuelly is actually the reason why I didn’t buy my wife a Mazda 3.

For the Jeep I do the math in my head. 170-230 miles per tank over a five to seven day period. Gas prices change, so I never include cost to fill. I’d rather not talk about my MPG...

I use the Road Trip app. It’s been great for tracking economy, expenses, cost per mile, and even fuel price fluctuation. I especially like that you can log individual trips in it and track your economy during the trip. Plus it doesn’t need an internet connection like fuelly does.

Another vote for Fuelly... here are the stats on the pony. I’m pretty CDO about gas mileage (CDO, btw, is OCD except with the letters in alphabetical order like they are supposed to be). On the pony car road trips, I keep track of a number of stats, including fuel mileage. “In God we trust, everyone else bring data.”

I drive it until it runs out, then I put more in. Hopefully, it lasts 1.5-2 weeks on a tank, but sometimes it doesnt.

I used to keep an Excel sheet. Sometimes I do keep it updated to see things like average miles and gallon per hour. But in general, I just use Fuelly. http://www.fuelly.com/driver/jrogers832 It’s nice to beat the EPA numbers so easily with my truck, and see it be among the top in its group.

I don’t care about the fuel consumption, I put it in to see what my tank avg is. I just really care about how much it cost to fill up.

I keep the last receipt and let my car do all the computing. Rest with each fill. I am already sad enough when I can see days I push her a little more.
